What Is a Department Administrator?

You can configure an administrator to a department in Kintone who has privileges to manage department members. This administrator is referred to as a "Department Administrator".

When the department administrator accesses the administration screens, only some menus of Administration are displayed.

Actions That Department Administrators Can Perform

Departments

A department administrator can perform the following actions on the departments for which they have administrative privileges:

  • Change department information
  • Add child departments
  • Change members
  • Configure department administrators
  • Delete departments

Users

A department administrator can change the information of the following users:

  • Members of the departments for which the department administrator has administrative privileges
  • Users who do not belong to any department

To prevent department administrators to manage unassigned members, assign them to appropriate departments so that department administrators manage only members in the department for which they have administrative privileges.
By default, the Administrator is also a user who do not belong to any departments.
Changing Departments to Which Users Belong

Limitations

  • A department can have up to 1,000 department administrators.
  • Department administrators cannot update data in bulk using a file.
